Much warmer today, warm enough for shorts, but barely warm enough to get sweaty.  Im through 12 weeks of training with twelve weeks to go until the Long Branch half.  Looking back at previous years training and comparing, Im running a lot faster now with less soreness, so I just need to stay on track and I should have a good race.

About once every 4 weeks I do a 3:1 run.  This means that I run the first 3/4 of a long run at normal pace, then try to pick up the last 1/4.  Today I did 17, so I ran the 4 miles faster, each one faster than the previous one. 7:17, 7:10, 6:50, 6:22, total time out about 2:13.  The idea is to get used to pushing the pace when your body is already tired from running for more than 90 minutes.  Felt good today, finally felt recovered from Wed's tempo run, plus I ran mostly on trails in Allaire which always feels better on the legs.

Total for the week: 48
         for the year : 181
