Today I recieved an email from Drexel University inviting me to interview for their medical school.  This late in the cycle its probably for a spot on the waitlist, but I'll take it.

Todays workout was tough. 10 miles with 6 x 820m with 2min jog in between.  After a 3 mile warmup I did the 820's in 3:00, 3:00, 3:04, 3:02, 2:58, 3:01; they all should have been closer to 2:58 though.  Avg. pace for the intervals was 5:53, supposed to be 5:45.  My only excuse was a lack of toe-off traction, my new shoes are a little plasticky on the forefoot and the synthetic boardwalk offers no traction for a shoe thats not rubbery.  But it was a good effort, thats the point.  Total time out, 1:15.

Plasticky is not a word. Don't blame it on the shoes. Good effort is all that counts.

Jake did his 820's today in just under two minute eachs, and he doesn't even have shoes. We should probably note that he also crapped in public after the first and third laps.
