Sometimes you just don't have it...

Today was one of those days. After painting the living room I went out for my first interval workout. The last one was about 6 weeks ago, and back then I was feeling pretty fast, doing 20 x 400 was tough but not a killer. Today I decided to switch it up a bit and do 600's. I thought I'd do 13 or so, that would equal roughly the same as 20 x 400. Following an easy two mile warm up I did my first 600, 2:07. I was thinking they should be closer to 2:00, but with the wind, I just figured the first one was a warm up, but it really felt like crap. Number two, 2:05, a little better but still didn't too good. The thirs one was the slowest at 2:09, my legs just had nothing, so I decided to cut my losses and call it a day. No sense in killing myself if my legs are not responding, some days when you dig down there's just nothing there, but what can you do. I'll save what was left for tomorrow's long run and make it into a quality run. I did about a mile of strides after the third 600, then about 2 more miles home, so total for the day was 7 @ 56. On the positive side the living room is done and tonight we're going out for Korean BBQ! and by the end of the day tomorrow, the bedroom will be painted, then the painting is OVER!
