One last 17

Although last Sunday was my last really long run, after today's 17 miler, I won't even come close to the race distance until race day.
I got up this morning and watched the Women's Olympic qualifying race for the marathon in Boston, what a great race! I had timed it so I could eat breakfast and watch the race, then head out for my run. But right as the race ended, Chuck Grosso stopped by, and we wound up talking for a while, so my run got pushed back. Normally not a big deal, but by the time I headed out I was starting to feel hungry, so I just ate a banana and left. I did six up to Sea Girt beach, then back for some Gatorade, then I did six up by Manasquan beach, and by the time I got back to my house again I could feel I was really running out of gas. But a little more Gatorade was enough to keep me going for the last five out on the bike trail.
As soon as I got home I drank lots of Gatorade and ate a banana, then a PB&J on a bagel with milk, then a turkey sandwich and some juice, then some more Gatorade, and now I'm feeling normal again.
I finished 17 in just about 2:08, not the best feeling run, that's my fault for not eating enough before I left the house, but my legs hardly felt like I ran a hard 10 K yesterday.
Total for the week: 56
for the year: 1047
