Double beating

One beating I paid for, the other was free.  The first butt-kicking of the day was my third exam.  Wow, that was what I thought medical school would be like; so much information, so little time.  But at least it was the general consensus among my classmates that this was by far the hardest exam; so I wasn't the only one who felt like I'd just been punched in the gut when it was over.  But it is over, so no more crying about it.

I went to the local high school track this afternoon and did a pretty tough workout on a steamy day.  Any lingering concerns I had about the exam were beaten down on the track.  What an awesome track, though.  It can't be more than 2 years old, rubberized surface, regulation distance with all the markings, and a synthetic turf infield (for football.)  I'm amazed that such a nice track is just open for anyone to run on, but I guess that's what my taxes are paying for up here.  Anyway, after a 2 mile warm up I did 3 x 800m @ 2:46, with 400m jogs in between.  Felt pretty hard, but also relaxed.  I know I could have run faster, but that's not the point.  Today was just to get the legs moving FAST again.  2 mile cool down for 6 total @ 45min.  Good and tired afterwards, so I definately made the right choice switching yesterday's run to today.
