This morning turned out to be one of the most perfect for a race in August.  It was actually a bit chilly when we showed up at the start, but by the time the gun went off it had warmed up, but it was very tolerable.  I saw a few guys who I know who have been running about as fast as I was hoping to go today, so I was able to hang with them through the first two miles.  The 1st mile was @5:42, a little fast, but it felt pretty comfortable.  The next mile we slowed a bit, @5:50.  Then with 1.1 to go I started to push, covering that distance in 6:13, which is about 5:39 pace.  Overall time was 17:46, about a minute faster than my last race back at the beginning of July.  So my training is paying off, it looks good for my 10K next weekend.

Dad finished under 27! and Hisako was well under 30!  Pete was a few seconds slower that last weekend, but he was out "fishing" yesterday so that may have slowed him down a bit.

Got to go to the beach all afternoon on what appeared to be one of the best days of the summer, pretty close to a perfect day.
