The long run.

Fast hills

This morning I just couldn't get up for my run, so I had to pay the price and run in the heat of the afternoon, but the extra hour and a half of sleep was worth it.

I ran 5 in the hills @ 36, really pushing the uphills and flying back down.  I'm going to try to do this run once as a week as a strength workout, plus I get some speed in the legs on the downhills; the leg turnover has to be really quick on some of the steeper hills.

So that will be part of a weekly schedule to maximize the time spent running; one strength run, one faster run, either a tempo or fartlek session, and a long run on the weekend.  The other two or three days will just be easy flat miles.

Hey Connor, we miss you too.  But at least your Mom is sending us lots of pictures to see how big you're getting!
