I knew going into medical school that it is often thought of as a "marathon."  Now on the inside looking out I can see just how true that is, and I hope the mentality I developed while training for actual marathons will help me through.  Pacing is the key.  You have to study as much as is possible, but too much too fast = burnout.  So today after about 5 hours in the books I felt like I NEEDED to go for a run.  My focus was waning and an easy 4 miles @30 minutes was just the thing to freshen up.  Now a shower, some dinner, and a few more hours of studying before bed, then repeat tomorrow and Thursday.  Test is on Friday.
