Had another XC race today.  I almost mixed up the days, I thought today was the road race and tomorrow was XC but last night I took a last look and realized I had it backwards.  Either way, both races are pretty local.

Today was a tough one, mainly because of the weird distance, something like 5.7K.  It was a three loop course, mostly flat, slightly muddy, but it was cool and overcast.  I think our team did pretty well today, we all came across pretty close to each other, I'm pretty sure I was 4th man.  I don't know what my time was, I forgot to hit stop on my watch after my spastic finish.  Coming down the home stretch I was positive I heard someone coming up on me so I went all out, I mean top sprint speed to the finish.  Hisako came along with the dogs and she said she saw me running like crazy at the end and she was wondering why because the next guy wasn't even that close, I guess my oxygen deprived brain was playing tricks on me.

Hopefully I can recover enough for a good run tomorrow, but we'll  see.  My legs are not as used to taking a beating as they used to be, but I'll give it my best.  It'll probably be my last road race for a while with the winter coming on.  I think with the warm up and strides and stuff I ran about 6 today.
