I may have jinxed myself yesterday when I said I would run outside today no matter what the weather was.  I woke up this morning to see a fresh eight inches of light powdery snow on the ground.  So I decided if I was going to go for a run in the snow, it may as well be out in the woods too.  I drove out to Green Lakes park, stretched on my snow spikes, and started off around the lakes.  Not too many people out there, a few people on XC skis and some with snow shoes, I was definitely the only runner.  At points there were no tracks ahead of me and I was cruising through shin deep snow.  It was my slowest, toughest 3 miles all year, but also probably the most scenic.  I actually brought my camera and stopped a few times to document the day.

So I managed, among other things, to running 1800 miles in 2008.  I doubt I will run as many in 2009, but you never know, maybe during the summer I can get the weekly mileage back up a bit.

No big plans here for tonight, Hisako and I are going out for dinner.  We'll probably be asleep before midnight.

Happy New Year!
