I just got back from a pretty dicey seven miler out at Green Lakes Park.  I was thinking that since there is almost no snow on the ground that it would be nice to do a longer run on the trails instead of on the roads.  But I didn't think about the fact that a lot of the trails out there don't see sun light at any time of year.  And since is still freezing cold out, almost the entire loop was packed snow and ice.  I didn't realize this until about a quarter mile in, at which point I decided it was to risky to keep slipping and sliding.  So I headed back to the car and then realized I had my ice cleats with me.  I slipped them on and headed back out into the woods.  It was really peaceful out there, I explored some new trails, trudged up some steep hills, and didn't see another person for the entire time I was out there.  Overall it was a very slow run, but the effort was good and it was a very nice change from the treadmill.

Still haven't heard from my doctor, I guess he's busy this week.  I'll update when I know more.
