This was just about the perfect morning for a race, it was warm, but, it is July so...

Did my normal warm up, a mile or so easy, then some strides.  Felt good before, and the race went off on time this year.  Luckily, I bumped into Carlos before the race and he was planning on running about what I was trying to do so we stuck together through the first couple of miles.  First mile was a little fast 5:46, then 6:02, 5:58, then Carlos started to pull away, but I tried hard to keep close. 4 miles at 6:04, then finished in 6:01, good for an overall time of 29:54.  Psyched to crack 30 again, once I start getting some speed work in things will start to come around.  With the warm up, six for today.

Everyone else ran great today, Pete and Kara both faster than Spring Lake! awesome!

Nice to get a mention. I cracked 55 for the first time in about 2 years. Goal is to crack 50 by Halloween.

The Turkey Trot is the perfect race for a fast time.  Much cooler by then, and if you keep on the training, I bet sub 50 will be no problem.
