The plan for this morning's run was to do a 4 mile warm up, followed by 8 miles in 50 minutes (6:15 pace) then cool down with another easy 4.  I chose the bike trail because I didn't feel like dealing with all the people who were likely to be on the boardwalk.

On my way over to the bike trail I realized that I would have to deal with the west wind in my face for the first half, but then I would have it at my back on the way home.  I cut the warm up short and sped up after 3 miles.  The first mile was good, but I couldn't hit the pace on the next three.  I just couldn't find my rhythym.  But on the way back I got it and after hammering the last mile, I finished the 8 mile tempo section in 50:10, only ten seconds off, not bad at all!  I did wind it down with an easy 5 to make it 16 for the day @ 1:53.
