After finishing my statistics final this morning I was feeling the need to blow off some steam, so I drove up to Sea Girt to do my long run on the boardwalk.  It was not too cold and the wind was west, so not much of a factor.  The plan was to do 12, with each third faster than the last.  Somehow I got started a little faster than planned and went through the first 4 @ 30:36.  No problem switching gears to get the next 4 in @ 28:51.  The last 4 was the only stretch where the wind was partially in my face, and it made me work to get the last 4 in @ 27:10.  Total time was 1:26:37.  Felt really good, it's amazing how a little speed work can make things feel easier.  It's a purely mental effect, just knowing how fast I was running on Wednesday made today's pace seem very reasonable.

Now to hop in the shower and Hisako and I are going out to celebrate our 7th Anniversary!! (it's actually tomorrow.)
