Double.

Even though my weekly mileage doesn't necessitate doubles at this point, my work schedule does. If I want to get the miles in this week, then I need to make the most of my days off.
So today the plan was to run 14 split into 2 runs. But I told myself that if I didn't feel good during and after the first run, then there would be no second run. Surprisingly when I woke up this morning I didn't feel sore at all. I was expecting to feel pretty stiff after yesterday's long run, but I didn't. I'm taking that to mean that my build up back to slightly higher mileage has been sensible.
I got up earlier than usual so that if I did get two runs in, there would be plenty of rest time in between. I headed over to Ocean County Park with the intention of doing at least 6. But once I got through the first two mile loop I was pretty sure I would get in 8. I was careful to go very easy on the pace. 8:15 to 8:30 pace felt very relaxed, so I did 8 @ 66 minutes. Then home to refuel, all healthy stuff today. Did some chores around the house, ran some errands, walked the dogs, had lunch, relaxed a bit, then it was time for the second run. As it was starting to get dark late in the afternoon, I headed over to the Brick reservoir. Probably the best place in Brick to run after dark. It's flat, no cars, and extremely well lit. And tonight there was practically no wind. I had no problem cruising through another 6 miles @ 50 minutes. So I got 14 in today and feel no worse for the wear. Tomorrow is a speed workout, indoors. Then Friday will be a complete rest day (at work.) Hopefully I'll get in a few miles after work on Saturday, then Sunday will likely be another rest day.
