Steady State.

This morning I got to sleep in and then go for a run in some pretty nice weather. Unfortunately, I was very overdressed. When I stepped out the door, it felt much chillier than it was, but I found out midway through the run that I definitely should have had shorts on, and no jacket. But I still did 10 miles @ 72 minutes. After an easy 2 warm up, I did 6 @ 6:39 pace, which is what I call steady state pace. Faster than easy but slower than tempo. By feel, it's an "off" pace, not quite fast enough, but not slow either. But it's a good speed for developing stamina, and that's what I'm after at this point in the training. Including this week, I only have 3 weeks left of my aerobic phase, so I'm really going to try to get in some good miles between now and the end of the month. Then, I'll start the hill phase in March, hopefully by then the snow will be all gone so I can get to my favorite hill out in Allaire
