More hills...

There is no doubt that my legs felt better today, after jogging and stretching yesterday. It seems impossible that my legs could adjust to these hill workouts so fast, but they may have. Today I was able to get through all 3 sets, the intense uphill part, without having to stop. That's pretty good progress for less than two weeks. But there has been a lot of rest built in, so I should be able to recover. While I was running today I was trying to recall if I actually did this same workout s times a week for 4 weeks when I was training for the '08 marathon. I looked back over the blog entries and found that I did mix in some hilly fartlek sessions too. (I also remembered that I broke down during this phase with a cold and had to take some days off. But I was logging much heavier mileage then, so I don't think that will happen again.) So instead of doing another hill session on Friday, I'm planning on doing a hard fartlek run in the Brielle hills. Another 11 miles today.
