Well, the final hill workout didn't turn out as planned.  I'm being smart and listening to my body instead of the schedule I have written on a piece of paper.  I noticed last night that my right achilles tendon felt a bit stiff before bed, but being the normal runner that I am, I ignored it and assumed it would feel good when I woke up.  And it did.   So no reason to call off my last hill session, right?  I suited up in my full winter gear, it was snowing afterall, and headed for the hills.  About 2 miles into my warm up, I felt my achilles again.  Not pain, nothing traumatic, just felt something not normal.  My first thought was to ignore it and just get the workout in.  But then I thought again, quickly did a cost benefit analysis, and realized that I have nothing to gain by getting in one more hill session, but if I screw up my tendon, then the whole winter's training could go down the tubes.  So I decided to just finish out the 5 mile loop, nice-and-easy.  Once I got over the irrational runner's guilt for skipping the workout, I feel much better.  I'll run easy tomorrow and Saturday, and assuming I feel 100%, then Sunday I'm going to run a low key 5k race to see where I am as far as fitness goes.
