but not a great workout...

But when the good part is that good, it's hard to worry about a run.

I had my brain checkup today and all was good.  No change is good news.  We were out of there and home by 1:30.  I had to take a little time to digest, and fight the urge to take a nap.

When I finally headed out for my run it was warm and humid (excuse #1) and for some reason, mentally I was dreading this workout (excuse #2.)  The plan was to run 3 x 1 mile @ race pace with 400m recovery jog, which I'm thinking should be 5:35.  After warming up, I had a hard time hitting 5:40 on the first one.  The second one didn't feel any easier @ 5:41.  At that point I decided that since I wasn't hitting the splits, maybe I should just call it a day.  So I did a short jog to make it 5 overall.  The "mile" I was running was one that I measured on google maps, but after the run, I measured it with my car and it came out long.  So, maybe I was hitting the splits, or at least I was closer than I thought.  After measuring it again on the computer, I think it was definitely long, at least a couple of seconds.  I should have done this workout on the track... oh well.
