After work today I had 9 miles to run, but because of the heat, I wasn't feeling super motivated.  But when I got home, Hisako still hadn't done her run yet, so we decided to head up to Sea Girt and run from Mom and Dad's.  That way if it was still warm at the end of the run, we could take a dip in the pool.  Luckily, by the time we got there, the wind had pick up pretty good from the south, which really cooled things down.  But it also meant that the return trip on the boardwalk would be straight into a stiff head wind.  Hisako was doing 8 and I was doing 9, so based on our differing paces, we should have finished right about at the exact same time.  On the home stretch I could see that I was catching her, but it wasn't easy.  I picked it up a little to see if I could get her, but she had spotted me and picked it up too.  She was determined not to let me catch her, so she finished about 20 seconds ahead.  Both of us finished in about 1:09.
