Not my best race today, but still good enough to win my age group.  I went out "easy" @ 5:55, 5:58, 5:58, then as usual, I tanked in the 4th mile 6:13.  I pulled it together a little for the final hill and the home stretch @ 6:02.  Time was 30:06, I think 15th overall (even though this was my slowest 5 mile race in years!)  For some reason I didn't feel any fire today.  It just felt like a hard workout: I didn't put forward a race effort.  But I did find out today that if I continue to win my age group for the rest of the Grand Prix, I have a shot at some prize money!  That's a little extra motivation to try to sharpen up before Belmar in three weeks.  I need to mix in some longer tempo runs and some short fast intervals.  With warm up and cool down, 8 for the day
