Another lesson in running hard on tired legs in hot humid conditions. Yesterday the crazy weather combined with some laziness got the better of me and I wound up not running. It's a recovery week, so no big deal.
Today after work I was really close to convincing myself to take a second day off in a row, but I rallied and hammered out a very hard run. Since this is a cut back week, and I'm trying to focus a bit more on quality instead of quantity, I decided I didn't need a long run this week. So today after 2 miles easy, I did about 6 miles in under 37 minutes. Since my GPS watch is broken, I had to go by feel. I don't really have many good mile markers on my local route, but judging by Google maps, I was just shy of 6 miles in 36:48. That's a pretty good effort considering I almost didn't run at all. An easy mile jog at the end made it 9 for the day in 59 minutes. Tomorrow I'll finish out the week with some more easy miles.
