I was kind of dreading the idea that I was going to have to go to the track after work today and do a pretty hard workout at the hottest part of the day.  But luck was on my side.  I got up, dressed for work, ate breakfast, then started my commute.  About halfway there, the staffing office called and said that I was being flexed today!  Basically that means there weren't enough patients for me to be there so I got to go home.  I was home by 7:00 and on my way to the track shortly after that.

I warmed up with an easy 3 miles, then started the workout.  I did 11 x 200 with full recovery.  I meant to do 12 but they were done at a good intensity, so I actually mis-counted.  The average pace for all 11 was 32.7 seconds.  I was planning on doing them @ 35, but I just fell into the rhythm of @ 33.  With full recovery between each one, the whole workout wasn't really to taxing.  And just to prove that to myself, after recovering from the last one I did an 800 at what I think should be close to race pace.  I was aiming for 2:52 but wound up running 2:48.  After doing those 200's @ 33, I felt like I was jogging during the 800.  Cooled it down with an easy 2 miles to make it 9 for the day @ 1:05:12.  Feels great to have all that done so early!
