Yesterday after work I went home and gathered my things for a weekend of dog-sitting in Sea Girt.  Couldn't ask for a better weekend, the weather is awesome.  Nothing better than doing an easy 5 miler on the boards after work.

This morning I was up fairly early and it was nice out.  Not too hot and low humidity.  But since I didn't get going early enough for the boardwalk, I headed over to the bike trail for my workout.  After a two mile warm up, I cranked it down to about 6:20 for 3 miles (19:06) then directly into 8 x 100/100 sprints, then back into another 3 miles @ 6:20 (19:03) followed by another set of 8 x 100/100.  This workout was was not supposed to be a killer but is meant to give a feel for surging in the middle of a hard run, then also finishing strong.   I had intended to run closer to 6:30 pace, but the rhythm I fell into just felt right.  And since the second one was slightly faster than the first without exerting extra effort, I think I paced it just right.  Another 2 miles home then a dip in the pool!  Total time for 12 was about 1:23.
