Not the workout I had planned.

Today was another one of those days where I just didn't have it. I planned on doing at least 2 5k tempo intervals on the track. 90 second laps would have put me at 18:45 for 5k, which is just slower that 6:00 pace. The first mile and a half or so felt fine, not too much effort. But the second 1.5 I was working too hard to maintain that pace. I finished up @ 18:50. Not too far off pace, but the effort was more than I think it should have been. So rather than push on and run another 5k slower, I just cooled down and called it a day. About 6 miles. I think over the last few weeks I've manged to sharpen up my speed very nicely, but maybe I let the endurance slip a bit? I'm going to try and get two good longer runs in this weekend to try and balance things back out.
