A change in the weather?

Not quite yet, but I can feel it in the air. Yesterday I wound up taking the day off. By the time I got home from school it just felt way too hot for a run, plus, I was tired, and if I only have enough energy to do one thing, it has to be studying at this point. But today, no class, so I got out and did a quick ten miles @ 69 minutes. Felt great, still humid, but the clouds look like they are rolling in with the cooler air. With some creative doubling, I may still be able to make up for yesterday and meet my goals for this last week of hard training.
Cooler, cloudier, and windy for the second run today. This was just a short, fast workout. Minimal volume, but pretty high intensity. After a two mile warm up and some strides, I banged out 5 x 400/200. Average pace for the 400s was about 76 seconds. The rest was half the distance @ the same time, so 200 @ 76. These all felt pretty "easy." But knowing that I was only doing 5 of them takes the mental aspect out of it. In the build up to my best marathon I was able to 20 of these @ 78 with shorter recoveries. Another mile to cool down made it 5 for this evening, and 15 total for the day. I'm looking forward to running tomorrow, the temperature is supposed to drop below 50 tonight and not get above 70 tomorrow! I'm ready for fall.
