Wake up call.

After another unplanned rest day yesterday, I decided I needed to send a wake-up call to my legs today.  Just a little reminder what it feels like to run fast, and what I'm expecting for Sunday.  Considering the cold, rainy conditions outside, and the fact that Sunday's race is indoor, it was easy to decide to run on the treadmill today.  An easy 2 mile warm up was followed by a ladder; 1 minute fast, one minute slow, 2 fast, 2 slow, 3-3, 4-4, 3-3, 2-2, 1-1.  All the fast parts were done at my treadmill's max speed, which is 5:27 pace (pretty close to what I'll be shooting for on Sunday.)  The first two fast sections felt really fast, but once I found the rhythm, it seemed like a "reasonable" pace that I should be able to hang onto for about 10 minutes.  With warm up and cool down, it was a total of 8 miles in just under 54 minutes.
